Add a password gate to a short link
Password protection adds a step before a visitor is redirected to the destination.
When to use it
A password gate can be useful for low-risk, limited-distribution links. It is not a replacement for access controls on sensitive documents or private business systems.
Choose a strong password
Use a unique password and share it through a separate channel when practical. Avoid using account passwords or other secrets.
Security limits
Do not treat a public short link as fully private. The service operator may still process request metadata needed to provide the service and protect against abuse.
